Redid my LJ layout. See how pretty (and pink) it is.
Also saw this link to extremely cool (but spoilery) pictures from RotK on the official LotR site.
Saw yet another American Idol tonight (the one with the Billy Joel songs). Not much to say but that Carmen was horrible in comparison to the rest.
I know that Clay and Ruben are the two who are left on the show (as things stand now in America). I'm rooting for Clay :D Ruben is a very good singer but I'm afraid that he doesn't have the endurance to become an American Idol (I know, bad joke). I'm not seeing his voice holding out on a big tour or anything. But he has very lovely voice though.
They sang The Longest Way in the group act. Ok, no offence or anything but girls shouldn't be allowed to sing that song. When I was in high school, few boys there were in a cappella groups and they did that song in a singing contest for high schools and they absolutely rocked. So I know how this song is supposed to be performed. So not only did I wince when the girls sang but also when one of the boys (I suspect Josh) completely screwed up a falsetto thing in the song.
In other news, I read one of the books on
angua9 suggested reading list. Sprig Muslin by Georgette Heyer.
The question Angua laid before us was: Will our hero end up with Amanda? And if not, who is his destined love?
Erm, yeah. Well, I was quite convinced from the first chapter onwards that Sir Gareth and Hester would up together and even more so when Amanda was introduced.
That Hester cried herself to sleep after learning that her old friend Sir Gareth had asked for her hand in a marriage (seemingly arranged) was my first clue. Obvious that she had feelings for him. The immaturity of Amanda convinced me even more.
When we are two-thirds into the book we are supposed to be thrown of course when Amanda suddenly becomes level-headed and responsible. But that didn't fool me for a second. Her immaturity in other areas kept me from being fooled.
Another thing that had me sold of the idea of Gareth/Hester, was that we had had a good glimpse of Hester's feelings early on and if Gareth would have fallen for Amanda, Hester would stand strangely alone, something that would have left the reader unsatisfied.
Only one complain about Sprig Muslin - where was the smut? :D
