I blame
gileonnen for a Trelawney/Sinistra fic, serious or hilarious at the author's discretion.
A/N: Un-betaed because I suck.
Selena Sinistra was a quiet sort of person. All that her co-workers knew of her was that she knew her planets and constellations and that for some bizarre reason, she was in a relationship with Sibyll Trelawney.
At every Hogwarts Staff Christmas party, someone would pull Sinistra aside and ask her what on earth she saw in Trelawney. Even Hagrid and Filch had been curious about it.
Usually she told them to mind their own business though her need for privacy wasn't the main reason for her response.
The main reason was that Sinistra couldn't even explain it to herself. Sibyll Trelawney was a difficult person in every way. Some member of the staff had once said that she was like the Muggle film stars of old who isolated themselves for the attention and the drama. Though she knew nothing of Muggle film stars, she felt that it was a very astute observation.
Perhaps this was what she saw in Sibyll; her unpredictability, her ever changing moods. Through her work Sinistra dealt with planets in a predictable orbit and fixed stars so returning to her chambers to face a certain uncertainty.
Then there was the fact that they were more than two in the relationship. Her, Sibyll and the Inner Eye.
The Inner Eye was truly the domineering partner and while Sinistra was well and truly hooked on drama, there was such a thing as too much of it.
Still, all in all, they were more or less content as they were.
Well, until Umbridge happened.
It had all gone down hill from there. Even when Dumbledore reinstated Trelawney, she still was going through a bottle after a bottle of cooking sherry and still moaning about the disrespect she felt she'd been shown.
Enough for Sinistra to quietly move all her things back to her chambers and Sibyll's things to hers. To no surprise to her, Sibyll didn't seem to do notice at all. These days her attention was on Firenze.
Now she could direct all her energy to the teaching and have a nice quiet life.
There was always Peeves if she'd feel the need for drama.
